About Me
My name is Sarah Nagle. I am passionate about makerspaces and maker-centered learning, both in informal learning environments and in higher education. I love helping students explore new technologies and learn new skills. It's the most fulfilling feeling when students have that "lightbulb moment", and their project finally comes together. In my current role as Creation and Innovation Services Librarian at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, I support projects and curriculum relating to a wide range of experiential learning, maker, and innovation topics.
My research interests include maker/creative spaces in academic libraries and maker-centered learning in higher education. My current interest is in the barriers and micro-barriers that might prevent some patrons from using maker services. In other words, how can we create inclusive maker environments that welcome students of all skill levels, majors, and backgrounds, providing welcoming entry points for every student to experience maker techniques and technologies?
